Urinary Tract Infection Service
This service is for women aged 18+ and under 65 years and for the treatment of uncomplicated UTI.
Urinary-tract infections (UTIs) are common infections that can affect any part of the urinary tract (kidneys, ureter, bladder, or urethra). They occur more frequently in women and are predominantly caused by bacteria from the gastrointestinal tract entering the urinary tract.
There are different kinds of UTIs, depending on where in the urinary tract the infection is located. The infection can be in the lower part of the urinary tract (bladder and urethra), or the upper part (kidney and ureters).
Another common UTI is cystitis or infection of the bladder.
